08.16.12 //team update

Over the past year we have had some team changes. We never really felt it was necessary to put out a press release about them but lately we've had some fans asking what happened to certain guys. So we figured we'd explain it all in on nice team update.

Last year we started some team re evaluation. It was decided that there were a few guys, that as good of friends as they were, just were not not holding up their end of the deal in one way or another. They were not getting coverage and not progressing and keeping their level up with the rest of the team. So we were bummed to do it, but we let go of Greg Harbor, Donovan Rice and BK. We love those guys but we needed to take those resources we were putting into them and put them into the guys on the team that where really making it happen and progressing.

We then lost Jason Adams to another company that he felt was a better fit for him and we wish him well and are still good friends.

Cyril just recently left for an offer from Baker. We are all really stoked for him!! Bummed to lose him but really happy for him. He left the team in the most classy way possible. A straight up good dude. He still skates for Landshark and we skate with him regularly.

We just let go of Dan Nepscha because he recently posted on Face Book that he doesnt skateboard anymore and is happier without it. Again, we love Dan but its just wrong to sponsor and give a pro model to someone that doesnt skate. Its a bummer!

Finally Chad Knight got a full time job at DC last year and thought it would be a good idea to retire and focus on his new career. But since then, Chad has been killing it and skating with the team. All while holding down a full time career. A real working class hero!! He is currently at Woodward West filming with the team and filming a new short video part. Chad will have a pro model out on 1031 again VERY soon! Stoked!!!!

So the current 1031 team is a lean, barging team. Nothing but full on chargers! Kristian Svitak and Chad Knight are holding it down on the pro program. Fritz Mead and Rick Rossi Charging hard and blowing up on the am team and Trent Hazelwood and Matt Tomasello charging hard out on the east coast, also holding it down on the am team. We have some secret street chompers on the flow team as well and one day may make it to the team. But for now we are taking our time and enjoying our tight, close knit team.

02.02.12 //Svitak "Destroy Everything Now" 2004 Re-Edit!

So we have been in the process of getting all of my old video parts up on the internet over the past year. Everything was going well until I got to my part from the 88 video released back in 2004. I skated to Devo's "Mr. DNA" and every time it went on you tube the record label had it removed. I was pretty bummed because that was one of my favorite parts that I had filmed. So instead of just dealing with it I decided to talk to my friends Kelley Deal (The Breeders) and Mike Montgomery (Amp Line) about covering the song and using our version. So thats just what we did and now the problem is solved! So here is my 88 part re-edited to Kelley, Mike and myself covering Devo's "Mr. DNA" plus there is even a few extra clips thrown in there as well.
